CORONADO - When the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) sends its membership services field representatives to the beach, it's not about rest and relaxation.   They're working to meet seasonal lifeguards to bring them up to speed on everything CSLEA.  On August 1, 2016 that meant a trip to Silver Strand State Park where CSLEA representatives Shelley Bishop and John Knight conducted a new employee orientation.

Full-time lifeguards prepare for re-qualification swim

"In addition to speaking with the seasonal lifeguards, we had the opportunity to watch the swim qualifications for the full time life guards," said Bishop.  "The first year seasonal lifeguards assisted in conducting the swim.  We also had the pleasure of meeting and talking to State Parks Peace Officer Jesus "Chuy" Salinas Rodriguez who is a board member of RPPOA."
