CAMP ROBERTS – On August 27, 2016, CSLEA conducted a membership outreach and new employee orientation event with the State Employed Firefighter Association (SEFFA) at Camp Roberts.  Camp Roberts is one of the largest military bases in California encompassing nearly 43,000 acres, most of it wildland.

In addition to providing fire protection for the base, Camp Roberts firefighters provide allied agency response to the local fire departments,  including the city of San Miguel. Camp Roberts firefighters provided allied agency response to CAL FIRE on the Chimney Fire in San Luis Obispo County.

Camp Roberts firefighters also provide ongoing training and certifications for other fire departments and firefighters. Despite chronic understaffing and budgetary restraints, Camp Roberts firefighters are a shining example of providing excellent service to the people California.
