SACRAMENTO- In response to the outpouring of support and numerous requests to assist CSLEA-FMESA Member Shane Norris, a CALFIRE Deputy State Fire Marshal, who was just recently diagnosed with Stage IV Mantle Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, FMESA has partnered with the Fire Family Foundation on Shane’s behalf. The foundation is the charitable arm of the Firefighters First Credit Union.
The Fire Family Foundation is non-profit and all donations to assist the family are tax deductible. It is a “pay-it-forward” system, so when Shane returns to work, any balance of his fund may be provided to another fire service family in need. To donate, please click here.
Both Shane and his wife, Suzanne, are very pleased with the mission of this foundation. Please share this widely. If you would like more detailed information on how the tribute works, please contact me directly. My contact information is below.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Be the Match registry event tomorrow! March 8, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at CALFIRE, Office of the State Fire Marshal at 1131 S Street, Sacramento.
In addition, state workers can help by donating to a Catastrophic Time Bank (CTB) approved for Norris who works in the Code Enforcement, OSFM Fire and Life Safety Division, Sacramento Headquarters. Unit. He is currently off work due to his illness and extended treatment and has exhausted his leave credits.
