SACRAMENTO – On April 24, 2017, the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA) welcomed 12 new CHP dispatchers to membership. The dispatchers are receiving training at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento.
“This can be an overwhelming time for these dispatchers as they are learning policies and procedures, codes and geographic regions,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “By visiting them at the academy we can introduce ourselves, advise them on support systems and services, and let them know we are here to serve them. Today they were able to meet both the president and vice president of their affiliate CHP-PSDA, two veteran CHP employees who are passionate about the public safety dispatcher profession and the care of those who spend their careers in public safety.”
The group of new dispatchers met CHP-PSDA President Tina Brazil, Vice President Victor Tovar, and CSLEA Membership Services Representatives George Pina and Marco Castro.
