SALINAS – On May 3, 2017, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Member Services Representative Jim Laughlin conducted a membership outreach event for Licensing Registration Examiners (LREs)at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office in Salinas.
“LREs have a very important role in helping to keep us safe on the road,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “A lot of people don’t give the public safety role of LREs much thought, but I do. These professionals get into vehicles with strangers who have untested, or not recently tested, driving skills, and put their safety in the hands of those individuals behind the wheel. It is up to the LRE to test a driver’s skills and knowledge of the rules of the road.
Commercial drive tests are very intensive and can take up to two hours to complete. CSLEA thanks its members who are LREs for their dedication to public safety.
