VALLEJO- On May 12, 2017, Member Service Representative Jim Laughlin met with newly hired Motor Carrier Specialists at the Golden Gate Division of the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Motor Carrier Specialists conduct detailed safety inspections of trucks and buses to keep passengers and our highways safe.  Motor Carrier Specialists also assist in in- depth accident scene investigations as part of the CHP’s Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).

“These professionals are rarely in the spotlight, but they are key to keeping us safe out on the road,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona.   “Inspecting trucks and buses, including school buses, to be sure they are being maintained properly and are operating correctly and safely.”

CSLEA would like to welcome Steve Watson, Rogelio Viveros, and Nicholas Bonachea to their new careers as Motor Carrier Specialists.
