COVINA – For a second year, the California Association of Criminal Investigators (CACI) is sponsoring a flag dedicated at the annual Covina Field of Valor event to honor CACI members who are veterans.
For the week preceding Veteran’s Day, thousands of American flags are flown in the fields of Sierra Vista Middle School as a patriotic tribute honoring all veterans and active duty military personnel.
“As a veteran of the Marines, it was an honor to be there,” said CACI Vice President Eddie Asencio. “Funds donated to sponsor a flag are used to fund the Field of Valor and assist veterans and their families in need.”
The majority of flags at this event are sponsored honoring a friend or family member, or in this case all CACI members who are veterans.
“This is a very touching way to honor a veteran or a group of veterans,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona. “Our veterans have earned, and deserve our heartfelt thanks and respect. I thank our veterans who put the freedom of all us before their own safety. To our members who have served, and those who are active, thank you for your service.”
