CSLEA Visits with CHP Dispatchers in Salinas

SALINAS - On December 20, 2017, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Member Services Representative Jim Laughlin conducted a membership outreach meeting in Salinas with California Highway Patrol (CHP) Public Safety Dispatchers.

“It’s important for our representatives to visit our members because there really is no substitution for a little face-to-face time,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona.  “By visiting job sites, we are putting faces with names and answering any questions our members may have.”

CHP public safety dispatchers answer the bulk of 911 calls placed by cellphone users in California.  Their days are long and can be extremely stressful.  For a rare look at our CHP dispatchers at work, CSLEA invites you to watch the video below.
