By CSLEA Member Services Representative Jim Laughlin
SAN JOSE – On January 31, 2018, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Member Services Representative Jim Laughlin conducted an outreach event with program representatives at the California State Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) in San Jose.
The Bureau of Automotive Repair is the primary licensing and investigative agency for the automotive repair industry in the State of California. Program representatives have a broad range of duties from assisting automotive repair shops with licensing issues and investigating consumer complaints against automotive repair shops. Additionally, program representatives conduct complex undercover operations, including allied agency investigations with the FBI targeting crime cartels operating out of automotive repair shops.
“My sincere thanks to our professionals at BAR who work daily to protect consumers and keep the public safe,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “The vital work these professionals perform often goes unnoticed and shouldn’t. They are behind the scenes guardians for all of us who own, drive and maintain vehicles.”
CSLEA would like to thank program representatives for their dedication to protecting California consumers.
