In The News - CSLEA Says Public Safety Officers who Guard Yountville Veterans Home are Unarmed

"SACRAMENTO -- “They’re dressed like deputies, they drive police vehicles with police lights," but the public safety officers who guard the Yountville Veterans Home, where a gunman killed three hostages Friday, are not armed, said Ryan Navarre.

“Local law enforcement counts on our officers, who are unarmed, to be the primary security for thousands of people on grounds,” said Navarre, who is with the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association."
