SACRAMENTO – On April 19, 2018, investigators new to the Department of Consumer Affairs, Division of Investigations, Cannabis Enforcement Unit Investigators met with representatives from the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and the president of the California Association of Criminal Investigators (CACI), Dennis Maffei.
Maffei, along with CSLEA Members Services Representatives George Pina and Marco Castro, conducted a new employee orientation designed to introduce CSLEA and CACI to its newest members.
“These investigators will face many challenges as California begins its journey into regulating commercial cannabis licenses for retailers, distributors, microbusinesses, testing laboratories, and temporary cannabis events,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “We appreciate the work they will be conducting to keep Californians safe and want them to know we are a phone call or email away should they have any questions or concerns.”
The orientation included information regarding CSLEA’s legal defense fund, attorneys, basic life insurance benefit for members, scholarship and discount program information as well as grievance and complaint representation.
