HUNTINGTON BEACH – On June 29-July 2, 2018, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Member Services Representatives John Knight and Shelley Bishop visited veteran and new California State Parks seasonal lifeguards at Bolsa Chica, Silver Strand and San Clemente beaches as well as in San Diego.
“The primary goal of our visit is to impress upon these vital first responders the importance of seasonal membership with CSLEA,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “These public safety professionals conduct life-saving work and with that comes some heavy duty personal risks, not only to their safety, but possible liability issues. No person performing the duties of a lifeguard should be without a legal defense fund, which CSLEA provides with seasonal membership. We hope that our lifeguards consider the importance of this and we wish them a safe and healthy season.”
CSLEA Seasonal Membership includes:
- Collective Bargaining
- Grievance Representation
- Complaint Representation
- Legal Defense Fund
- Eligible to Serve as Site Representative
- $15,000 Basic Life Insurance Benefit
