SACRAMENTO – On October 25, 2018, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced the appointment of California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Member Martin K. Deffee, 55, of Sacramento, to deputy director of the California State Lottery Security and Law Enforcement Division.
Deffee has served as chief investigator in the California Secretary of State’s Office since 2015. He was hospital police lieutenant and sergeant at the California Department of State Hospitals from 2005 to 2015. Throughout his state law enforcement career, he remained a member of CSLEA and served as a field representative for the union. Deffee served in several positions for San Benito County from 1993 to 2005, including deputy sheriff, senior deputy marshal and deputy constable sergeant.
