By CARII Board Member Mario Salas
PASO ROBLES – On Tuesday, December 4, 2018, California Association of Regulatory Investigators and Inspectors (CARII) President Tom Ineichen and CARII Board Member Mario Salas met with program representatives from the Bureau of Automotive Repair’s (BAR) Audits and Roadsides Branch in Paso Robles.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the benefits of CARII and California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) membership and to reach out to the hard-working CARII-CSLEA members who perform inspections year-round in the heat, rain and snow.
“I appreciate our members’ interest in the upcoming contract negotiations, even the tough questions, and discussing with us potential negotiations and contract proposals that can be submitted to CARII,” said Ineichen.
Program representatives within BAR’s Audits and Roadsides Branch safeguard the integrity of the Smog Check Program by auditing smog check analyzers statewide and by performing roadside inspections of vehicles to determine the effectiveness of the Smog Check Program.
“We use these informal gatherings to speak with CARII-CSLEA members one on one, to thank them for their hard work, and to get feedback on working conditions,” said Salas. “We thank our members who attended.”
