SACRAMENTO – This week the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association’s (CSLEA) negotiations team is scheduled to commence Bargaining Unit 7 contract negotiations with the state’s negotiations team. The first two days of presentations and discussions are set for April 11-12, 2019. The goal is to reach a contract agreement that can be presented to membership and ratified prior to the expiration of the current contract which expires July 1, 2019.
CSLEA’s senior vice presidents and legal counsel will meet April 10, 2019 in continued preparation. The CSLEA negotiations team consists of President Alan Barcelona, Chief Financial Officer Ricardo Sanchez, Unit A Vice President Kenny Ehrman, Unit B Vice President Tom Ineichen, Unit C and Senior Vice President Tina Brazil, Chief Counsel Kasey Clark, and Senior Counsel Ryan Navarre.
The state’s negotiations team includes CalHR and select representatives from the various departments in which Bargaining Unit 7 members work.
CSLEA’s negotiations team has reviewed hundreds of proposals submitted by affiliate presidents and members. Those proposals have been, and continue to be, researched. Proposals are narrowed down and then prepared for formal presentation. CSLEA will be calling upon select members as subject matter experts when presenting to the state.
CSLEA is fully prepared for the intense amount of work that is involved in negotiations and looks forward to a positive outcome in the form of a favorable contract.
