SAN DIEGO – On May 3, 2019, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and California Association of Criminal Investigators (CACI) Member Det. Israel Garcia was recognized during Law Enforcement Appreciation Night at PETCO Park when the San Diego Padres played the Los Angeles Dodgers. Prior to the game, San Diego County law enforcement agencies, along with federal law enforcement were recognized on the field for the hard work they provide for San Diego County.

Det. Garcia was selected to represent the California Department of Insurance (CDI) because he was awarded Detective of the Year for 2018 for the CDI San Diego Regional Office for all his work investigating insurance fraud.  Those selected as Detective of the Year for the San Diego Regional Office get to represent the Department the following year on the field.

“What an honor to see our CSLEA CACI member on the field being recognized for his law enforcement and consumer protection work,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona.  “Event such as this instill pride in our communities and respect for law enforcement.  Thank you to the Padres organization for hosting  a law enforcement appreciation night.”
