SIMI VALLEY – On October 16, 2019, representatives from the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and the California Organization of Licensing Registration Examiners (COLRE) met with approximately 25 California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) licensing registration examiners (LREs) in Simi Valley in conjunction with their DMV Region V annual training.
“We set up union meetings with LREs during their annual regional training so we can check in, see how things are going, and listen to how we can better assist our members,” said COLRE President Enrique Razo. “This year we have a lot of members who want to discuss the contract and raises.”
Razo was joined at the meeting by COLRE Vice President Tim McCullough and CSLEA Senior Counsel Jim Vitko.
“Thank you to our members who came to the Simi Valley City Council Chambers where we held our meeting and discussed avenues in which we can all take to improve our jobs, pay and service to the driving public,” said Razo. “What many LREs don’t know is that the regional conferences at DMV were bargained for by CSLEA, for training purposes. Most of our members don’t know that their conference is part of our labor contract.”
