RIVERSIDE – It was a great day to meet four dispatchers training at the CHP facility in Riverside on November 5, 2019. As the dispatchers become acquainted with everything CHP, they also had the opportunity to get to know their union, the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and its affiliate, the CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA).
CHP-PSDA Treasurer and Secretary Steve Fulton and CSLEA Counsel Stacy Olsen met with the dispatchers for a new employee orientation. The short time spent with the union representatives gave the dispatchers a small break from their training and allowed them to learn how the unions have and are currently assisting dispatchers.
“Our dispatcher members are an amazing and resilient group of public safety professionals. Their jobs are difficult and sometimes they need to lean on us for support, for clarification of the contract, or to take action on their behalf,” said Olsen. “We and CHP-PSDA are very active with our dispatcher members and we look forward to standing beside and behind our newest members. We wish them the best in their new careers!”
