SACRAMENTO – On December 2, 2019 representatives from the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and the California Association of Regulatory Investigators and Inspectors (CARII) attended a Joint Labor Management Committee (JLMC) meeting with the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA).
“These meetings are a chance for us to discuss issues that may need to be addressed and they involve potential problem solving,” said CARII President Tom Ineichen. “We discussed some post negotiation issues and had the opportunity to introduce ourselves to DCA’s new director, Kimberly Kirchmeyer.”
Kirchmeyer was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to serve as DCA director in October. She served as executive director of the Medical Board of California (MBC) from 2013 to 2019 and as MBC’s deputy director from 2011 to 2013. This isn’t Kirchmeyer’s first post with DCA. She was deputy director of board and bureau services at DCA from 2009 to 2011.
Attending the JMLC on behalf of CSLEA were Senior Attorneys Jim Vitko and Andrea Perez. In addition to CARII President Ineichen’s attendance, CARII Directors Mario Salas and Amanda Martinez also participated in the meeting. Arlene Caballero of MBC assisted with the JLMC as a subject matter expert.
CARII will be providing a more detailed update on the JLMC meetings in the weeks ahead.
