Dear Motor Carrier Specialists,

As essential employees with CHP, Motor Carrier Specialists continue to work in the field while millions of California citizens are doing their part to shelter in place to combat the spread of COVID-19.  This is an unprecedented time and has been difficult for many of us as we face personal challenges as they pertain to stay-at-home orders, such as child care, sick family members, etc.  I want to thank all of you for rising to the occasion and performing your work as the professionals that you are.  I know this has not been an easy time.

 

It is my view, that being an essential employee is a good thing.  CHP Motor Carrier Specialists are needed just as the dispatchers and officers are.  This is our time to shine and showcase our contributions to public safety.  I have to believe this supportive and positive attitude can only benefit us in future discussions with the department and CalHR.
