ROSAMOND – On September 9, 2020, investigators from the California Bureau of Cannabis Control (BCC) served two search warrant as part of their investigation into the suspected illegal cannabis operation at the Green Empire dispensary in Rosemont. The warrants were executed at the dispensary itself and one at an associate’s residence in Lancaster.
Seized were:
- 2 pounds of dried cannabis flower
- 85 pounds cannabis concentrates
- 55 pounds of cannabis edibles
- $12,459 in cash
- One unregistered handgun.
“These places continue to operate outside the regulations and laws of California, retailing and distributing without paying any taxes and foregoing any testing for pesticides and toxins,” said California Association of Criminal Investigators President George Tiongson. “In addition, investigating and serving warrants on these illegal cannabis operations works to ensure the survival of licensed commercial operations.”
All commercial cannabis activity in California must be conducted on a premise with a valid license issued by the appropriate state cannabis licensing authority. Selling cannabis goods without a state license or at a location that is not licensed is a violation of state law.
