SAN LUIS OBISPO – On September 17, 2020, representatives from the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and the Hospital Police Association of California (HPAC) met with cadets who are currently attending the California State Hospital Office of Protective Services (OPS) Police Academy located at Camp San Luis Obispo in San Luis Obispo.
HPAC Board Members in attendance included Officers Ezra Cosby and Luis Jimenez. CSLEA Supervising Legal Counsel Dave De La Riva represented CSLEA. CSLEA and HPAC provided the cadets with lunch and information regarding the benefits they receive as union members and answered any questions they had regarding union membership and employment-related questions.
“We welcome our newest HPAC/CSLEA members and thank them for their membership,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “No peace officer, or any public safety employee, should work without the safety net of a union. For those in the academy who did not have the opportunity to sign up for membership, they can do so online on our CSLEA website. We look forward to being partners in their new careers and to guide them through any unforeseen issues that might arise.”
