CHP Family Mourns the Loss of Newly Retired Public Safety Dispatcher Colleen McKusker

MERCED–On January 13, 2021, newly retired CHP Public Safety Dispatcher Colleen McKusker, a member of the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) passed away from complications associated with COVID 19.

"Public Safety Dispatcher McKusker dedicated decades to helping the public, law enforcement officers and fellow first responders," said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. "We are deeply saddened for those who loved her and worked with her and are so very grateful for her public safety and first responder service."

"I worked with Colleen my entire career at CHP," said CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA) President Tina Brazil.  "She was a great dispatcher, and well respected by the officers and fellow dispatchers.  It was quite a shock and so very sad to lose her.  She had only been retired for 13 days! She had a great laugh.  We all miss her."

On February 8th, the CHP posted a touching video tribute in memory of Colleen, November 18,1958 - January 13, 2021, on its Facebook page.
