SACRAMENTO- On February 9, 2021, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Senior Counsel Andrea Perez had the pleasure of conducting a new employee orientation for two of CSLEA’s newest members now working at Cal OES.
“While I didn’t get to physically meet them and shake their hands, Alexis McMurray, a communications operator and Jose Contreras, an emergency services coordinator, and I had the opportunity to chat in a Zoom meeting,” said Perez. “It was a nice, low-key way to introduce CSLEA to them and to answer any questions they might have had about union membership.”
Many of CSLEA’s recent new employee orientations are conducted via teleconference or conference call due to the pandemic.
“We are still able to convey the benefits of union membership and assist our newest members as they start their new jobs,” said Perez. “I like new employee orientations because I get to meet and get to know those I represent from the very beginning and establish ongoing communications. Welcome Jose and Alexis, thank you for making time to get to know CSLEA.”
