LOS ANGELES COUNTY – On March 9, 2021, the California Bureau of Cannabis Control’s Cannabis Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, California Department of Public Health and California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, served a multi-location search warrant on a large scale unlicensed cannabis distributor and manufacturer in Los Angeles County known as Muha Meds.
The search warrant resulted in the seizure of hundreds of pounds of cannabis flower, nearly 350,000 illegal vape cartridges, edibles and concentrates valued at $30 million.
“Investigators are not only working to put a stop to unlicensed cannabis operations due to the drain on California’s economy and the unlevel playing field they create for licensed operations, they are also protecting consumers who might be purchasing products that don’t adhere to health and safety standards,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona.
Engaging in commercial cannabis activity without a license is subject to civil penalties of up to three times the amount of the license fee for each day of operation.
