LOS ANGELES COUNTY -On May 25, 2021, investigators from the California Bureau of Cannabis Control’s Cannabis Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, served a search warrant on an unlicensed dispensary known as Whittier Daily Greens. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of cannabis and cannabis products worth nearly $500,000.
“Those who engage in commercial cannabis activity without a license are hurting legitimate cannabis operations and are finding out there are huge penalties to pay once they are investigated by BCC and legal proceedings take place,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona. “Better just to get the appropriate licenses and permits. Consumers should also be sure they are buying from a licensed operation.”
Engaging in commercial cannabis activity without a license is subject to civil penalties of up to three times the amount of the license fee for each day of operation.
