WEST SACRAMENTO – On September 27, 2021, seven new California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) members met with CSLEA Senior Counsel Andrea Perez and CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA) Vice President Victor Tovar at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento. The seven are training to become public safety dispatchers and will work at communications centers in Los Angeles, Fresno, Chico, Eureka, Ukiah and Bishop.
“We are always amazed by the individuals who are training to become first responders as CHP public safety dispatchers and their commitment to public safety and helping people in times of emergency,” said Perez. “Today we had the opportunity to answer their questions about their new jobs and their new union membership. Theirs is not an easy job and there is a lot to retain. It was a pleasure meeting them today and we welcome them to CSLEA and CHP-PSDA.”
Perez and Tovar conducted a new employee orientation to assist the new dispatchers in their journey and to introduce them to CSLEA’s benefits, services and representatives.
