WEST SACRAMENTO – On January 21, 2022, representatives from the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and the CHP Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA) visited with new public safety dispatchers training at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento.
CSLEA Senior Attorney Andrea Perez and CHP-PSDA Vice President Victor Tovar introduced themselves and discussed the benefits and services available to union members.
“I think the dispatchers enjoy hearing from Victor because he has spent years as a dispatcher and as a union vice president and he understands their job stresses and how the union assists dispatchers during the course of their careers,” said Perez. “Meeting them is a pleasure and an honor. Establishing a rapport as they train likely means they will feel comfortable reaching out to us for assistance.”
The public safety dispatcher will be working at communication centers in Orange County, Riverside, Vallejo, Sacramento, Fresno, and San Diego County.
