WEST SACRAMENTO – On June 20, 2022 four California Highway Patrol (CHP) Public Safety Dispatchers training at Academy in West Sacramento signed up for union membership to the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and its affiliate, the CHP Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA) following a visit from union representatives.
CSLEA Senior Counsel Andrea Perez and CHP-PSDA Vice President Victor Tovar presented a new employee orientation to introduce themselves and the union to the new dispatchers. This is a time for the dispatchers to learn about union benefits and representation and to ask questions.
Three of the dispatchers are assigned to the Orange County Communication Center one is assigned to the Golden Gate Communication Center.
“Theirs is a very important public and officer safety job and we thank them for embarking upon a career in which they can help people who are experiencing emergencies and need assistance,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “Our organization is a strong one because of our membership, because of our staff, our legal team, our political and legislative consultants and our Board of Directors.
