By CSLEA Supervising Counsel Dave De La Riva
On July 7, 2022, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Supervising Legal Counsel David De La Riva and Senior Legal Counsel Jim Vitko attended a retirement ceremony celebrating the career of former Hospital Police Association of California (HPAC) President Lorenzo Indick. Indick retired as a Sergeant from Patton State Hospital in May 2022. Sgt. Indick served as HPAC President for five years and was succeeded by current President Luis Jimenez in 2012.
Sgt. Indick began his career in law enforcement with the Los Angeles Police Department in 1991 and began his State service with the Department of Developmental Services in 1995 through 2016, at which point he joined the Patton State Hospital Police Department.
“Lorenzo spent a lot of his time as HPAC President traveling to the different hospitals and was instrumental in increasing membership with CSLEA during times when the State was facing serious financial difficulties including furloughing staff. Even after Lorenzo promoted to the Sergeant position, he continued to maintain his CSLEA membership. I thank Lorenzo for his work and wish him the best in the future,” said De La Riva.
Also celebrating their retirements with Sgt. Indick were Hospital Police Officer Zbynek Jonak and Hospital Police Chief Anthony Fiedler. CSLEA wishes to congratulate these retirees and thanks them for their service.
