OROVILLE – On January 13, 2023, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Chief Counsel Kasey Clark and Association of California Wildlife Officers (ACWO) President Michael Milotz met with 49 cadets at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife Academy at Butte College to speak with them about the importance of union membership and wish them the best during their months of rigorous training ahead.
“The cadets began the academy on January 9th and we feel that it is important to meet them during their first week of training to orient them to the benefits, services and support that CSLEA offers,” said Clark. “It’s prudent they know the importance of having access to a legal defense fund and an attorney prior to their completion of the academy and going through field training.”
“Legal defense is vital for every law enforcement officer,” said Milotz. “I stressed to the cadets that I am glad that I have it and I don’t have to worry about having an attorney should something happen on the job. I am appreciative of being a member of CSLEA and having CSLEA in my corner In addition, as ACWO’s new president, I look forward to serving all of our ACWO and CSLEA members.”
CSLEA congratulates all of the cadets on their achievements in starting the academy and welcomes the majority of them to association membership.
