BENICIA – On May 31, 2023, representatives from the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and its affiliate the California Association of Criminal Investigators (CACI) met with California Department of Insurance (CDI) investigators and a California State Lottery investigator at CDI’s Enforcement Branch in Benicia.
“We had the opportunity during lunch hour to meet with our members and bring them up to speed on the contract negotiation process, law enforcement officer-related issues, internal affairs, Skelly hearings and the grievance process,” said CSLEA Senior Counsel Andrea Perez. “It’s important to discuss the role of the union in their careers and the protection union membership offers.”
In addition to Perez, CSLEA membership representative Marco Castro was present and discussed some of CSLEA benefits and services including LDF, life insurance, scholarship opportunity and CSLEA exclusive member discounts program.
CACI was represented by association secretary James Potts.
“In attendance were 10 investigators, two of whom were not union members, but after our discussion one of the investigators saw the value and importance of membership and signed up. We welcome Joel Lara to the CSLEA and CACI family. Thank you to all who attended, it was great seeing everyone,” said Castro.
