Riverside County MET Targets Illegal Cannabis Operation CDFW part of multi-agency effort

RIVERSIDE COUNTY – On July 24,2023, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Hemet’s Station announced the results of a multi-agency effort to combat illegal cannabis grows and operations.  Their regional Marijuana Enforcement Team “MET” served a search warrant encompassing more than 1000 acres of land in the rural community of Sage.

The operation included the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Bureau of Land Management, and the National Guard.

The operation resulted in:

  • 12,810 marijuana plants eradicated,
  • 450 pounds processed marijuana seized,
  • 4 guns seized,
  • $28,000 in U.S currency seized.

“Eradicating illegal marijuana plants, and seizing processed marijuana, firearms and currency is a step in protecting consumers and the legal cannabis market as well as identifying those behind the illegal activity.  We are grateful this was a successful and safe law enforcement operation and no one was hurt,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona
