WEST SACRAMENTO – On January 22, 2024, 14 dispatchers training at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento met with union representatives from the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and its affiliate CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA).
CSLEA Senior Counsel Andrea Perez and CHP-PSDA Vice President Victor Tovar conducted a new employee orientation which gave them the opportunity to introduce themselves and discuss the benefits and services that are provided to union members.
“We stress that first responders and public safety employees should consider, among other things, the safety net that union membership offers,” said Perez. “The dispatchers we met with today are embarking upon very important jobs that come with a lot of responsibility and stress. We discuss the many ways we have assisted dispatchers along the way and why having a support system is so important.”
CSLEA and CHP-PSDA extend a warm welcome to the dispatchers who signed up for union membership and look forward to assisting them in their new careers.
