WEST SACRAMENTO – Appreciating the value of “stronger together” and a union that fights for them, nine dispatchers training at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento joined the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) as union members during a presentation by association representatives on April 22, 2024.
CSLEA Senior Counsel Andrea Perez and CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA) Vice President Victor Tovar met with the dispatchers to introduce themselves, discuss union benefits and services and answer any questions.
“We work daily to protect and serve our members and we’re proud of the assistance we provide,” said Perez. “In addition to always having us by their sides and having a labor attorney just a phone call or email away, our members support the work that is continually being done to improve workplace conditions, salary and benefits. We thank our newest members for recognizing that this work takes the support of membership and stand ready to assist them with our benefits, services and support.”
The dispatchers will be assisting 911 callers and CHP officers at communication centers in the San Francisco Bay Area, Ventura, Sacramento, Yreka and Bakersfield.
