SACRAMENTO – In an effort to become more informed about their union and to participate with their supervisors to create solutions to workplace problems, 20 California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) members participated in a May 8, 2024 site representation class via video conference. This was the second of two site rep training sessions conducted in May.
CSLEA Senior Counsels Andrea Perez and Jim Vitko hosted the class which teaches members about the union, its role, procedures, grievances, paths to resolutions, the Bargaining Unit 7 contract and the work of site representatives.
“We had such a large number of members interested in attending the class that we opted to hold two classes a week apart to accommodate everyone,” said Perez. “It is terrific to see this kind of interest and always a pleasure to spend time talking with our members and to answer questions.”
In attendance were CSLEA members who work at California DOJ, CHP, Cal OES, CAL FIRE, DCA, CDFA, DSH and CDFW.
CSLEA site representation classes are held throughout the year based on interest or request.
