RIVERSIDE – On May 13, 2024, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Senior Counsel Jim Vitko and CSLEA Site Representative David Arriola, a CHP dispatcher at the Los Angeles Communications Center, conducted a new employee orientation for six CHP dispatchers training at the Ben Clark Training Center in Riverside.
The orientation allows union representatives to introduce themselves, discuss the benefits and services that union membership provides and answer any questions the dispatchers had.
“It was a pleasure meeting with all of our new members as they embark upon the very important first responder and public safety role of a public safety dispatcher. We know that this is a very gratifying career choice, although it can be extremely stressful at times. We and CHP-PSDA stand ready to assist them,” said Vitko.
The six new dispatchers are assigned to communication centers in Fontana, Los Angeles, Stockton, Sacramento and Chico.
