SACRAMENTO – On July 10, 2023, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Member Services Representative Marco Castro conducted a new employee orientation for three Cal OES Emergency Services Coordinators.  A CSLEA new employee orientation is an opportunity for employees new or returning to Bargaining Unit 7 to learn about the union that represents them. 

“Two of the three employees had already signed up for CSLEA membership online via our website application,” said Castro.  “So, today’s meeting over zoom gave me an opportunity to welcome them to CSLEA membership, go over the benefits and services we offer, and answer any questions.  It’s helpful for them to know about the various insurance programs and plans offered at CSLEA rates, to be sure they have identified a beneficiary in connection with the $15,000 life insurance benefit they receive as a CSLEA member, and share examples of how CSLEA has assisted its members in the workplace and during any internal affairs investigations.”

CSLEA and the Fire Marshal & Emergency Services Association (FMESA) extend a warm welcome to new members Christopher Camacho and Thomas L. Stoner.
