WEST SACRAMENTO – On December 9, 2024, CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA) Vice President Victor Tovar conducted a new employee orientation on behalf of the union, introducing himself to nearly a dozen dispatchers training at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento.
Tovar, also a CHP dispatcher, visits the academy to discuss union membership, as well as the benefits and services membership provides. Tovar is passionate about his first responder career and is able to share unique experiences with the dispatchers-in-training.
He shares his first-hand knowledge of the support union membership offers and is able to answer any questions the dispatchers have.
Nine dispatchers recognized the importance of having union support and became members of CHP-PSDA and the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA). The dispatcher will be working in communications centers in Sacramento, Indio, Chico, and Vallejo.
CSLEA and CHP-PSDA welcome the dispatchers to membership and stand ready to assist them in their new careers.
