CSLEA wishes to recognize the career and retirement of Sgt. Kenneth Williams. Sgt. Williams recently retired after a career that began in September 2000, with the California Science Center’s Exposition Park Department of Public Safety.
During Sgt. Williams’ career, he served under eight Chiefs and six Exposition Park Managers. Exposition Park sits just south of the USC campus and is home to the California Science Center, the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Park attracts over eight million visitors a year. Sgt. Williams’ responsibilities included maintaining law and order within the Park’s 160 acres, providing security during major events such as USC football games, LAFC soccer games and daily for the students and staff at the Theodore J. Alexander Science Center School.
Beyond his duties as a Supervising Museum Security Officer, Sgt. Williams served as a CSLEA site representative and was an advocate for greater compensation and benefits for both the Supervising Museum Security Officers and Museum Security Officers during collective bargaining.
“During the nearly 20 years I have been working with CSLEA, I came to rely on Ken and his wealth of knowledge associated with Exposition Park and the needs of our members who work there. I also developed a great friendship with Ken and I wish him the best in his future endeavors” said CSLEA Legal Counsel David De La Riva.
