ALAMEDA COUNTY – On January 21, 2025, the Alameda County Narcotics Task Force announced the outcome of a long-term investigation into a drug trafficking organization suspected of selling large quantities of fentanyl throughout the Bay Area.
The investigation culminated on January 21 with a multi-location search warrant operation conducted in east Oakland with the assistance of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office and the California DOJ Fentanyl Enforcement Program. In total 28 kilograms of fentanyl and $155,000 in US currency were seized. Three adult males and one adult female were arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for conspiracy, possession for sale, and the new 2025 fentanyl weight enhancement. If sold solely at the kilogram level, the fentanyl seized had a wholesale value of more than $700,000.
“We applaud the work of local, state and federal law enforcement in the effort to rid our communities of illegal drugs, including fentanyl. These types of investigations contribute to the safety and wellbeing of all of us,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona.
