SACRAMENTO – On February 18 and 20, 2025, the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) held a Basic Site Representation Training Class via videoconference in which 34 CSLEA members learned more about their union, their rights and how to take a more active role with supervisors in their workplace.
The class was conducted by CSLEA Senior Counsels Andrea Perez, Kja Harper-Gopaul and Jim Vitko.
“I really like conversing with our members, instructing them on their rights in the workplace, and also going over the different ways to handle any conflicts that arise. CSLEA members who take this class seem to have a special dedication to their careers, their colleagues, and our union,” said Perez.
Site representatives are the union’s eyes and ears in the workplace and are recognized by supervisors as employees appointed by the union to assist in solving problems.
CSLEA members in attendance at this month’s classes work at the Department of Consumer Affairs, Alcoholic Beverage Control, Department of Justice, CalOES, Department of Cannabis Control, CALFIRE, and Lottery and CHP.
