WEST SACRAMENTO – The California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and its affiliate the CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA) extend a very warm membership welcome to eight CHP dispatchers currently training at the CHP academy in West Sacramento. The dispatchers visited with two union representatives, CHP-PSDA Vice President Victor Tovar and CSLEA Senior Counsel Andrea Perez on February 10, 2025, and recognized the value and importance of union membership.
“I enjoy meeting with new dispatchers who are training at the academy to introduce myself and the union. I, and CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association Vice President Victor Tovar, spoke about why union membership matters in their new and challenging career,” said Perez. “During our visit, we answered questions, and talked about the benefits, services and protection that union membership provides. I think the dispatchers benefit from hearing from Victor as he has decades of experience as a CHP dispatcher and is very active in our union.”
The dispatchers will be working in CHP communication centers in Sacramento, Los Angeles, Monterey and San Diego.
