WEST SACRAMENTO – On April 7, 2025, 10 California Highway Patrol (CHP) dispatchers training at the academy in West Sacramento received a visit from union representatives California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Senior Counsel Andrea Perez and CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association Vice President Victor Tovar. Perez and Tovar conducted a new employee orientation, introducing the dispatchers to their union benefits and services.
The dispatchers are assigned to the Chico, Golden Gate, San Diego, Sacramento, Yreka, and Los Angeles communication centers where they will be assisting 911 callers and officers.
“These public safety professionals are embarking upon a very rewarding, yet challenging, career as first responders,” said Perez. “Their jobs will include very long shifts and stressful situations. The safety of officers, the community, and those calling 911 is in their hands. It’s important that the dispatchers are welcomed to CSLEA and the support system we offer. It was great meeting our newest CSLEA members and sharing with them the benefits of union membership.”
