VENTURA – On March 28, 2025, Nitun “Nate” Dayalghai Ahir, 43, of Valencia, was arraigned on a felony complaint for the crimes of unlicensed practice of medicine, fraudulent use of the terms “doctor” or “physician,” theft from an elder or dependent adult by a caretaker, and identity theft. Ahir is also charged with several aggravating factors, including that the victim was vulnerable and the defendant took advantage of a position of trust. He pled not guilty to all charges.
Ahir is alleged to have unlawfully practiced medicine without a license at Regen Spine and Nerve in Ventura, representing himself as a graduate of the Avalon University School of Medicine with specialties in neurology, neuropathy, chiropractic medicine, and gut health. The felony complaint alleges that Ahir is unlicensed and unauthorized to practice any form of medicine in the State of California. Additionally, he is accused of using the personal identifying information of an elder or dependent adult to unlawfully obtain a line of credit without that person’s consent.
This case was investigated by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Health Quality Investigations Unit.
Ahir is scheduled for an early disposition conference on May 1, 2025. He remains out of custody on $10,000 bail.
