WEST SACRAMENTO– On June 3, 2025, California Department of Public Health Food and Drug Branch (CDPH) investigators conducted an inspection of a wholesaler in the 800 block of Stillwater Road in West Sacramento. The investigation revealed the sale and distribution of contraband products to the public. During the inspection, investigators embargoed 4,000pounds of adulterated food items. The business was also notified that they were operating without the registrations to sell industrial hemp products. The investigation was initiated in response to community complaints.
The CDPH investigators who conducted this investigation are members of the California Association of Food and Drug Investigators (CAFDI). The CAFDI members are Investigators Balinsat, Miller, Spears, Odom, Lambert, and Mauldin.
“CDPH Food and Drug Branch investigators work, often under the radar, to keep us healthy and safe from adulterated food items that can potentially cause us harm. We value their work in keeping the public safe and thank them for their service,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona.
