RIVERSIDE – On September 24, 2024, CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA) Representatives Steve Fulton and Alana Haddock conducted a new employee orientation for dispatchers training at the Ben Clark Training Center in Riverside. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the new dispatchers to their union and the benefits of union membership.
“We appreciate the dedication of Fulton and Haddock who press upon new dispatchers why union membership matters and how CHP-PSDA and the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) assist dispatchers in their jobs and throughout their careers,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “CHP public safety dispatchers have a stressful job as first responders, and providing safety and resources to officers in the field. Union membership provides these dispatchers with their own set of protections on the job.”
Ten dispatchers recognized the value and protection that CSLEA offers and signed up for union membership. The dispatchers training in Riverside are assigned to Golden Gate, Los Angeles, Merced, Ventura, Barstow and Chico communication centers.
