WEST SACRAMENTO – On August 25, 2025, 13 California Highway Patrol (CHP) dispatchers training at the academy in West Sacramento received a visit from union representatives California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Senior Counsel Andrea Perez and CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association Vice President Victor Tovar. Perez and Tovar conducted a new employee orientation (NEO), introducing the dispatchers to their union benefits and services.
The dispatchers are assigned to communication centers in Indio, San Diego, Vallejo, Ventura, Bishop, Humboldt, and Ukiah where they will be assisting 911 callers and officers.
“At a new employee orientation, we have the opportunity to welcome these new dispatchers and introduce them to their union and support system,” said Perez. “We know their jobs involve very long hours and can be extremely stressful at times. The safety of officers, the community and those calling 911 is in their hands. I enjoyed meeting everyone today and welcome these dispatchers to union membership.”
