
RENO – California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) officers and directors held their fourth quarter 2025 Board meeting on October 23, 2025 at the Grand Sierra Resort prior to the CSLEA General Membership Conference scheduled for October 24-25th.
“We are looking forward to our membership conference and tended to a lot of Board business just prior to meeting with our members,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “This is a time in which our CSLEA directors bring issues and ideas to the table and we discuss how we can help with their issues.”
President Barcelona opened the Board of Directors meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for fallen law enforcement officers and members of the military.
Updates and items of discussion at the board meeting:
- The board received an update from CSLEA Director of Communications and Public Affairs Teri Cox regarding material created for conference attendee packets, assistance provided to CSLEA affiliates and the implementation of a new discounts program for CSLEA members.
- CSLEA Political Consultant Peter Mitchell briefed the board on the current federal, state, and local political climate, and candidates and potential candidates in future elections.
- CFO Ricardo Sanchez provided the CFO’s 4th quarter report. He presented the board with the financial statements, expenses, revenue, assets, liabilities, equity, and interest.
- Sanchez, chair of the CSLEA Membership Committee also spoke to directors about membership numbers and encouraged directors to reach out to non-members in their workplaces to encourage union membership.
- CSLEA Chief Counsel Kasey Clark disseminated the Legal Representation Committee (LRC) and Legal Defense Fund (LDF) reports for review by the board. He briefed the board on current, approved, dismissed, and/or settled LDF and LRC cases.
- CSLEA Conference Committee Chair Tina Brazil answered any questions directors had about the conference and updated them on any changes. CSLEA President Alan Barcelona thanked Brazil for her unwavering effort in putting the conference together, noting the amount of work it takes to organize and execute such an event.
The CSLEA board meets four times a year. The next CSLEA board meeting is scheduled for January 2026.
