VISTA -On December 17, 2025, investigators from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Gangs Division served a search warrant at a business located at the 1400 block of Poinsettia Ave. in the city of Vista.
The search warrant was the result of a complex ongoing investigation related to the suspected manufacturing and sale of food items containing psychedelic chemicals and analogs. The business was closed for several hours while investigators searched the property and seized approximately 20 pallets of food items.
The investigation is related to a press release made by the CDPH on December 11, 2025, warning customers not to consume TRE House Brand Magic Mushroom Gummies, Chocolate Bars and Syrup made by the brand TRE House.
The employees detained at the location were later released, and no arrests were made.
“These types of investigations and search warrant activity are designed to protect consumers and keep them from ingesting products that can be harmful,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona. “Consumers don’t often give much thought to the state workers who look out for their health and well-being. This is their full-time job, protecting consumers, and we appreciate their public safety and consumer protection work.”
